Cheerleaders from the Sneads High School Varsity and JV squads hit the big time last week when they traveled to Jacksonville to take part in the Jaguars’ Halftime Extravaganza.

The event was held at the halftime of a preseason game between Jacksonville and the Carolina Panthers and several other cheer squads took part. The Jaguars sent Sneads and the other squads a routine to learn for the show.

Cheer Coach Joyce Baggett said the squad had a blast and even made it on the field’s mammoth video scoreboard.

It was a quick trip though. The Sneads cheerleaders went over Thursday and came back after the game so they could attend school Friday.

Squad members who went on the trip were: Mandy Dudley, Aubrey Tye, Marissa Oliver, Loren Davis, Lauren Rukki, Lisa Johnson, Summer Thaxton, Destini Brown, Victoria Cherry, Alexis Moneyham, Amelia Mantecon and Meg Alexander.

Next weekend, the group heads to Tallahassee for Florida State University’s Spear-It Day. Sneads cheerleaders will practice with FSU cheerleaders and perform in the pregame show.
